Grand Lodge of Texas

The Grand Lodge of Texas, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons is the governing body of most Freemasons in Texas, being solely of the Ancients' tradition and descending from the Ancient Grand Lodge of England, founded in 1751. It was originally founded as "The Grand Lodge of the Republic of Texas, A.F.& A.M." on 16 April 1838.

Continuing a longstanding family traddition Wendell was initiated, passeed and raised in James Ladd Burgess Lodge No. 1305 in Dallas, Texas in 1970 to continue that tradition of masons within the family.  When he and Billie relocated to Forney, he affiliated with Brooklyn Lodge No. 386 of that city where he served as Worshipful Mastr during the 1999-2000 Masonic Year.  His plural endowed lodge memberships include Claud L. Austin Lodge No. 1450 in Dallas wheree he served as Worshipful Master in 2005-2006 Masonic Year, Charter Member and Past Masteer of reconstituted Scyene Lodge No. 295 in Quinlan in 2004-2005 Masonic Year, Duck Creek Lodge, No. 1419 in Garland and Artesia Lodge No. 406 in Terrell.  True to his Oklahoma heritage, Wendell is also a plural member of Caddo Lodge No. 3 in Caddo, Oklahoma.
